WWE Raw winners and grades
Bayley, Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch open WWE Raw
Becky Lynch shot Bayley for never playing in the main event at WrestleMania, and that bastard hit just as hard in WWE as she did in AEW.
The Elimination Chamber becomes a Triple Threat match if Bayley or Becky Lynch win against Bianca Belair in a Triple Threat. That’s a new wrinkle in the Elimination Chamber that I don’t hate.
Adam Pearce’s idea of starting The Elimination Chamber as a triple threat to accommodate more women is actually brilliant. It also shows how top-heavy WWE is these days when it comes to squeezing Becky Lynch and Bayley into an Elimination Chamber.
Bayley, Becky Lynch and Bianca Note in the opening segment: B+
Judgment Day def. The Street Wins
This match began with chants of “We want Mommy!” as Rhea Ripley continues to tour the world promoting WrestleMania.
Finn Balor pinned Angelo Dawkins, although neither will be in the Elimination Chamber. Will start WWE other Allusion to a split from Street Profits?
Edge went to a Monster Pop to make the save for Street Profits.
As fate would have it, Rhea Ripley showed up to attack Beth Phoenix, and although fans booed the attack, there was still vocal support for Ripley.
Street Profits vs. Judgment Day Note: B-
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley Contract Signing
Much like Batista in 2010, Bobby Lashley walked out with a cavalcade of his own safety, and he even added a nice touch by bringing out his own desk.
Bobby Lashley appeared legitimately amused by chants of “Bobby’s scared!”
Lashley has leaned into his new heel actor, the only thing missing is The Hurt Business which should reunite this Black History Month in Elimination Chamber.
Brock Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley Grade: A
Defeated Piper Niven. Me in
Piper Niven was presented against Michin, whose momentum is directly affected by Niven’s return.
It doesn’t sound like much, but Piper Niven feels like the early favorite to win the Women’s WrestleMania Battle Royal.
Piper Niven vs Michin Note: C
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn face to face
Prior to this segment, WWE backed away from a Baron Corbin segment in favor of something “more important.” After the Zayn Rhodes segment, Baron Corbin predicted that Roman Reigns would destroy Sami Zayn in front of his family and friends. Corbin also reminded us that he was the last to defeat Reigns.
Fans chanted “Cody” as he stood in the same ring with Sami Zayn, who is being falsely hyped as the next Daniel Bryan.
A lot of wrestling media was head over heels for this segment, but it only confirmed the fact that Cody Rhodes is the Alpha WrestleMania contender. Rhodes. Cut a great go-home promo for the underconfident Sami Zayn who feels like a pig to be slaughtered in the Elimination Chamber.
Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn Grade: A+
Defeated Cody Rhodes. Baron Corbin
This impromptu match began during a backstage promo for Baron Corbin, in which Corbin spoke badly of Cody Rhodes, his father, and his dog.
Baron Corbin was defeated by suit pants Cody Rhodes, furthering his burial in WWE.
Cody Rhodes vs Baron Corbin Grade: C+
Defeated Team Raw. Team SmackDown
Nikki Cross ran to that ring like a bat from hell and almost legitimately collided with Carmella.
Based on audience reactions, Asuka should be the overwhelming favorite to win the Women’s Elimination Chamber and challenge Bianca Belair at WrestleMania. Raquel Rodriguez is a potential spoiler.
Asuka didn’t care about tag team rules as she kicked her own teammates with impunity.
Backstage, Otis and Chad Gable had a maximum male models segment. Otis’ potential new model name is “Otís”. (pronounced: otice)
Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Grae: C+
Defeated Bronson Reed. Mustafa Ali
Bronson Reed had a backstage staredown with Alpha Academy, which is great for him as these are two of the few people on the list who are taller than him.
Mustafa Ali, who has had his own behind-the-scenes complaints about his booking, feels like a WWE parody of any “underutilized” wrestler who feels like they’re not getting enough opportunities. The parody was brutally crushed by Reed within minutes.
Bronson Reed vs Mustafa Ali Grade: B-
Rick Boogs defeated. the mis
Seth Rollins walked out on a MizTV segment in giant red boots, dressed as if The Village People had added an astronaut.
This whole section was about Seth Rollins’ boots until Miz brought Logan up on Paul, which prompted Rollins to get serious and tell Miz, “Shut up, Mike!”
Rollins ended the segment by performing the Stomp on The Miz with his oversized boots. The Miz may not wake up until net week. Unsurprisingly, Boos rushed in and snatched the win.
Before this match, Boogs shared the screen with Elias, which was inevitable since the day Boogs touched a guitar.
Rick Boogs has yet to flesh out his catchphrases, but he has the kind of natural connection to live people that few babyfaces have.
Rick Boogs vs The Miz Note: D+
Defeated Bianca Belair. Bayley and Becky Lynch
Half of the women’s list went for this one, leading to a great spot where Bianca Belair chased Iyo Sky down a crowd of women.
While a Triple Threat Elimination Chamber would have been a good concept, I also like that this potential ruse was only intended to lure Bianca Belair into the Elimination Chamber, where she doesn’t compete.
