It’s light, quiet, and about 90% cheaper than the Peloton Row.
My most vivid memory of a rowing machine is from the very first Netflix original series, House Of Cards. The rowing machine, kept in future President Frank Underwood’s basement, was a symbol of perseverance, man versus machine. It would be where Underwood would fight his demons, and the machine would be his ultimate challenge. This machine was big and noisy, so it had to be kept in a basement. It turns out that modern rowing machines don’t have to be so sensory imposing.

Meet the ROWBRO, a rowing machine that ticks all the boxes – size, versatility and price. The ROWBRO is compact enough to carry, use and store in most homes. It weighs 26 lbs or 12 kg and folds down to the shape and size of a backpack. It snaps to any door and uses a magnet-based resistance system that’s not only lighter than those on existing rowers, but it’s also silent. The ROWBRO’s moving seat uses the same wheels as inline skates, giving you a smooth experience that won’t damage your floor. Adjust the ROWBRO’s resistance to suit your workout needs and dock a phone or tablet with the built-in stand and you have a state-of-the-art rowing machine that’s affordable, quiet, fun and will count your reps as you progress and give you a comprehensive report on your workout.
Rowing is one of those rare exercises that perfectly combines strength training and cardio, activating up to 85% of the total body muscles for a truly effective workout. However, since not all of us are conveniently located near lakes or rivers to indulge in such exercise, ROWBRO is a much more compelling alternative than the other exorbitantly expensive rowing machines on the market. Manufactured in Europe with a patent pending design that is the result of a partnership with German engineers, the ROWBRO is perfect for most homes. Its price of $325 makes it a MUCH better alternative to a Peloton, plus the ROWBRO can be used for bicep curls and it comes with a built in pull up bar that you can also use for pull ups.

ROWBRO also comes with a pull up bar so you can train your biceps and more.
Setting up the ROWBRO is a simple four step process. Place the unit in any standard doorway or mount it to a wall with the wall mount and lock in place with the pull-up bar attachment. Unfold the guide rail for the seat and then place the seat on it. Finally, optionally place your smartphone or tablet in the ROWBRO holder and you can start training. With a button on the side you can adjust the resistance, from beginner to professional, and with the free app (available for iOS and Android devices) you can time your workout, track reps/laps and even count calories burned. Future updates of the app will also include a premium membership with features like live classes and fun games.
The ROWBRO starts at $328 for the Ultimate Early Bird version, or $407 with the wall mount and pull-up bar included, and comes with a 1-year warranty.
