And we’ve come across some pretty amazing Apple-inspired concepts in 2022! From a foldable iPhone that Apple didn’t announce during the keynote but should have, to an Apple Car 1 concept that embodies the brand’s award-winning design philosophy and an exciting self-driving feature, these stunning designs are the best in the world by many and a dream for every Apple lover. We can only hope that Apple will make these a reality in 2023!

1. The iPhone iFold

Meet the iPhone iFold, a foldable concept penned by Michal Dufka. The iPhone iFold (although Apple would probably call it the iPhone Dynamic Clamshell) follows the format of the MotoRAZR and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, with a clamshell-style folding design that gives you the advantage of a compact iPhone with a generously sized screen. This is the first iPhone with two displays. With a smaller display that sits right next to the camera hump, the iPhone iFold lets you access important stats and notifications without opening your phone. Similar to the convenience of an Apple Watch, this secondary display gives you the big picture of what’s going on.

2. Apple Car 1 concept

The core idea of Apple’s concept car revolves around a minimalist and elegant form. This resemblance to the Magic Mouse is intentional and defines the flowing lines of the next-generation car, which will most likely be an evolved self-driving vehicle. Magic Mouse inspiration gives the Apple Car 1 a forward and backward downward motion for balanced volume. Further inspiration comes from the Airpods Pro for an increased sense of power and dominance on the road – hence the bulged wheel section for a muscular profile and overall contrast.

3. The Apple Watch Series X

This quirky concept, titled Apple Watch Series X, offers you a smartwatch with a larger folding screen that lets you use it as a de facto iPhone. After all, your watch can make calls, right? The Apple Watch Series X is your regular foldable watch, in the sense that it comes with a primary screen on the front and opens like a book to reveal a “larger” secondary screen on the inside. Obviously I use the word “bigger” rather loosely given how small the Apple Watch’s form factor is to begin with. This foldable concept, designed to sit on your wrist, transforms the square WatchOS interface into a more traditional landscape interface and opens up the opportunity for many regular apps to find their way onto the watch, including better Netflix and YouTube ones -Adventures.

4. Kim’s Apple Glasses concept

The Apple Glass prototype we’ve seen flapping around the web is currently thought to feature a plastic frame. However, Apple might consider something that Eunho Kim dreamed up in his concept: a detachable metal frame that attaches to the temples of the round glasses. Apple will be placing a LiDAR scanner on the right temple, we’re told, and the clip-on arm might require some tinkering. However, with Apple reportedly refraining from using a different camera on the glasses, it could be an option to consider.

5. The Apple car

Get to know the Apple Car, from the mind of an AI. Designed by Dall-E 2 based on text input from designer, educator and YouTuber John Mauriello, this Apple Car is intriguing for two main reasons – the design of the car itself, but more importantly, the underlying AI technology that ultimately led to the development of the drove cars. The genesis for this idea came from Marques Brownlee’s own efforts with DALL-E 2. In a YouTube video, Brownlee demonstrated how simply typing in the words “Apple Car” resulted in a car that looked like the apple fruit.

6. Apple AirPods Pro 2022

In line with the leaks and speculation surrounding Apple’s upcoming flagship earbuds, designer Konstantin Milenin created this AirPods Pro 2022 concept mockup to give our imagination a tangible form. The audio accessory’s stemless design looks minimalist and compact. The charging case also gets a slimmer design to accommodate those small earbuds. Unlike the current version, these lie flat on their stomach like a clamshell design and do not have an upright posture. This means you’ll need a lot less space to put them in your bag or keep them in your bag.

7. All-screen Apple MacBook concept

This other breed of Apple MacBook, as Antonio defines it, will support TouchID (as a slide key), a slimmed-down version of FaceID, and a gorgeous AirPen for doodling neatly on the generously sized screen. The foldable, all-display Mac might lack a physical keyboard, but the design here includes the ability to pull up a digital keyboard with haptic feedback for the real typing experience. Fanboys may or may not like the idea of an all-screen MacBook, but the fact that such a device will have dual uses is hard to deny. Folded up an iPad roll and unfolded a full-fledged laptop.

8. iPhone V

This modded iPhone folds in half and is called the iPhone V. In addition to the folding feature, the modder has been able to keep the phone fairly authentic, using iOS and a screen as good as the Retina display. It’s an interesting concept, but one that reinforces the fact that foldable phones look good with more screen real estate, but only if the folding mechanism and thickness can be perfected.

9. The Apple Auto AVA

The Apple Car concepts we’ve come across range from the practical to the completely wacky. This is located in the former pool with a well thought-out design. The designer envisions the concept in 2026, so it’s not far from the rumored timeline. The AVA concept has the familiar contoured silhouette at the corners and the streamlined, flowing aesthetic associated with the Apple lineup; most notably the current flagship iPhone 13. The balanced aerodynamic front and rear of the four-seater sedan looks attractive and extremely practical, to say the least.

10. The Apple Magic charger

Looking a bit like the iPhone Lightning Dock, the Apple Magic Charger is based around a metal stand with a metal puck built into the square rim. The device is likely made of anodized aluminum, while the circular charging area is rubberized inside. Interestingly, the aluminum stand allows the charger to slide into a vertical position to charge the connected iPhone. According to reports and as the available images suggest, the Magic Charger was designed to keep the connected iPhone upright and in a horizontal position; Perhaps this limitation of use could have been a reason the magic was never done outside of Apple’s production lines!
