On Aug. 26, Stone shared a photo on Instagram requesting prayers with the caption: “My nephew and godson River Stone was found in his crib today with total organ failure. Please pray for him. Patrick’s wife Tasha announced her husband’s death on his Facebook account on Sunday morning.
“My heart feels like it’s been ripped out of my chest,” she wrote. “Patrick went to our cute river around 3:30 this morning. I don’t know what else to say, he was my world.
“He gave me three beautiful children who he loved and adored. . .” Tasha continued. “I knew from the first day I saw him that I was going to marry him. I felt a connection to him right away and we absolutely drove each other crazy for 20 years but we also loved each other so much. I feel lost without my best friend.
“I will miss listening to his voice when he excitedly tells a story, the mischievous twinkle in his eyes (especially when he was trying to upset me for no good reason), watching him get emotional in a sweet moment, or to talk to his family, but what I miss most at the moment is just him.
“My wish through all of this is that River at least has his daddy with him now and I hope you both have the best time. . . I’m not ready and I don’t want to say goodbye.”
