Star Wars: Jedi: Survivor launches April 29, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. Jedi: Survivor will also be coming to Xbox Game Pass on an unconfirmed date for those with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

The latest trailer for Jedi: Survivor fell under the numerous previews at The Game Awards 2022. A mix of cinematic action and gameplay teaser, this Official Reveal Trailer does a lot to convey the game’s dark tone and frenetic combat sequences.
The trailer is pretty cryptic when it comes to plot details, but it looks like it Jedi: Survivor Protagonist Cal Kestis faces a bumpy ride, both literally and figuratively. From crash-landing on a parched planet to battling some shady-looking customers in the middle of an abandoned town, it looks like Cal is about to have a difficult – but undoubtedly Star Wars-esque – time ahead.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Story and Setting
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor continues the story of Cal Kestus, a Jedi who survived the culling of his order by fleeing to the edge of the galaxy. In Jedi: Fallen Order, We find out that Cal cannot escape the long arm of the Empire and is soon fighting for his life against the forces of the Inquisition. Cal works with another Jedi in exile and fights to rebuild the Jedi Order.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay
Jedi: Survivor continues the tradition of its predecessor, offering responsive third-person action, fast-paced lightsaber duels, and satisfying Force powers. While we don’t have many concrete details yet, we’ve seen the gameplay where we’ve seen it Jedi: SurvivorThe trailers show that the satisfying Soulsborne hacking and slashing of the original is back. We can probably expect customizable power trees and a rest system reminiscent of Elden Ring’s Sites of Grace.
However, game director Stig Asmussen has given more than a few hints at new mechanics that will be included Jedi: Survivor. In conversation with game rant In December 2022, Asmussen stated that Cal will be able to wield five lightsaber stances, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. These include the standard single saber, double sabers, a Darth Maul-like saber staff, a crossguard saber, and a saber and blaster combo.
Star Wars fans will find that the final style is a stark departure from Jedi orthodoxy. Finally, Obi-Wan himself criticized the “clumsy and random” nature of a blaster. Still, it looks like Cal will do whatever it takes to survive, which fits the series’ grim tone, even if it means defying centuries of Jedi convention.
