Wow! That was a tough nut to crack. Not only do three of the words have a repeated letter (A in AMAZE and MANGA and O in BOOZY), but there are also two Zs. MANGA is also a pretty hard word to find in general, while BOOZY is pretty colloquial. I did it with a single guess, but eventually I got pretty worried about my streak.

Quordle FAQs: Everything you need to know
What is Quordles?
Where Wordle challenges you to guess a new five-letter word every day, Quordle presents you with four puzzles to solve. And instead of doing them in order, do them all at the same time. You get nine guesses instead of Wordle’s six, but the rules are otherwise very similar.
It is played online via the Quordle website (opens in new tab) and you can also access it through the Merriam-Webster site (opens in new tab)after the dictionary bought Quordle last year.
As with Wordle, the answers are the same for every player every day, meaning you’re up against the rest of the world. And like Wordle, the puzzle resets at midnight, giving you a new challenge every day.
The site also includes a practice mode – which I definitely recommend before trying out the actual game! – and there are daily stats including a streak count. You’ll also get Quordle Achievements – special badges for winning a game in a certain number of rounds, playing many times, or guessing particularly difficult words.
Oh, and it’s difficult. Very difficult.
What are the Quordle Rules?
Quordle’s rules are almost identical to Wordle’s.
1. Letters that are in the answer and in the correct place turn green.
2. Letters that are in the wrong place in the answer turn yellow.
3. Letters that are not in the answer will turn grey…
4. …BUT the word you guess will appear in all quadrants of the puzzle simultaneously, so an A could turn green in one square, yellow in another, and gray in the last two.
5. Answers are never in the plural.
6. Letters can occur multiple times. So if your guess has two of a letter, they might both turn yellow, both green, or one might be yellow and the other green.
7. Each guess must be a valid word in the Quordle dictionary. For example, you cannot guess ABCDE.
8th. You don’t have to include correct letters in subsequent guesses, and there’s no equivalent to Wordle’s hard mode.
9. You have nine guesses to find the Quordle Answers.
10 You must complete the daily quordle before midnight in your time zone.
What is a good quordle strategy?
Quordle needs to be approached differently than Wordle. With four puzzles to solve in nine installments, you can’t blindly throw letters at them and expect to win – you have a far better chance if you think strategically.
This is of course also the case with Wordle, but it is even more important with Quordle.
There are two important things to remember.
1. Use multiple initial words
First, you don’t just want a single seed word, you almost certainly want it two or three initial words.
The first of these should probably be one of the best Wordle start words, because the same things that make them work well apply here as well. But after that, you should choose another word, or possibly two, that uses a lot more of the most common consonants and that includes all the remaining vowels.
For example, I’m currently using STARE > DOILY > PUNCH. Together, these three words use 15 of the 26 letters of the alphabet, including all five vowels, Y, and nine of the most common consonants (S, T, R, D, L, P, N, C, and H). There are many other options – you might want to put an M, B, F, or G in place of the H – but something like this should do the trick.
If all goes well, that gives you a good indication of what one, or sometimes two, of the answers might be. If not, then good luck!
2. Narrow things down
Second, when confronted with a word where the answer could easily be one of several options – for example -ATCH where it could be MATCH, BATCH, LATCH, CATCH, WATCH, HATCH or PATCH – you will open it definitely want to guess a word that would narrow down those options.
In Wordle, instead, you can try several of them in a row and hope one is correct, assuming you still have enough guesswork. It’s risky but will work sometimes. Also, it’s the only option in Hard mode. But in Quordle, this will almost certainly result in failure – you just don’t have enough guesswork.
In the scenario above, CLAMP would be a good guess as it could point the way to four of the seven words at once.
