Image Comics and AL1CE team up for a haunting and dark music video trailer for THE DEAD LUCKY Volume 1 — GeekTyrant

The dead lucky guy Volume 1 will be out in March and I’m very excited. I haven’t been able to read the comics yet because life was so hectic, but I’ve wanted to read these stories in the Massive-Verse since day one! Well, to celebrate the upcoming release, Image Comics has teamed up with dark wave band AL1CE to create a pretty awesome music video/trailer in which you’ll see a mix of the band’s performance and panels from the comics that show the incredible art. The dead lucky guy is written by Melissa Flores (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers) with art by French Carlomagno (Radiant black) with the first volume collecting issues #1-6.

Lucky Dead, Vol. 1 is set in the changing San Francisco and revolves around the tech consortium MORROW. MORROW is buying up land – her Peacekeeper robots are popping up on every corner – and where Morrow isn’t are the local gangs.

Bibiana Lopez-Yang is also changing. The incident in Afghanistan that killed her train left her with a unique ability to control electricity – but she was haunted by the spirits of those she lost. With some unlikely friends, Bibi might have a chance to save her town. But against such a powerful enemy, being good won’t be enough. She must be lucky.

Speaking of comics, Bag Cox from AL1CE said:

The Dead Lucky is an inspired and deeply moving story from our truly gifted friend Melissa Flores. My favorite stories are the ones that leave a certain impression on your heart, and we all felt that tug on ours as we immersed ourselves in the universe of The Dead Lucky through the eyes of Bibiana. Our intention in creating the music is to evoke similar feelings that we felt reading Melissa’s powerful story. We are so honored and grateful for the opportunity of this wonderful collaboration.

Flores also shared some thoughts on working with AL1CE to create the song and video:

To be honest, when I first started collaborating with an artist to create the theme song for The Dead Lucky I only had one choice in mind: AL1CE, which I’ve been a fan of for years. I’m so amazed and grateful they said yes! AL1CE has written and performed a captivating and haunting song that perfectly sums up the complex emotions behind this book. And it’s an absolute bop! I can’t wait for the fans to love it as much as I do.

You can read The dead lucky guy Volume 1 at your local comic book store on March 22nd and at your local bookstore or wherever else you decide to buy comics on March 28th.
