The 2023 GeekWire Awards will present more than a dozen honors to some of the Pacific Northwest’s top innovators, entrepreneurs and technology leaders when the event returns to Seattle in-person and virtually on May 18.

Community nominations are now open — submit here! – and runs until March 3rd. After that we open things up for community voting.

Along with Startup of the Year, Next Tech Titan, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and others, we need your help in selecting nominees in three exciting categories: Workplace of the Year, UX Design of the Year and STEM Educator of the Year. More details on who and what we are looking for:

  • workplace of the year, presented by JLL: It’s not just table tennis tables and kombucha barrels. This year’s winner will showcase the attributes of an exceptional work environment, represented by an unmatched corporate culture, a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, and employees whose happiness levels radiate wherever they are.
  • UX design of the year, presented by Blink UX, A well-designed user experience is no longer a nice option – it’s a business requirement. UX Design of the Year is awarded to a product whose user experience is meaningful, user-friendly and enjoyable for its end users.
  • STEM Teacher of the Year, Presented by Bank of America: Our next generation of technologists, entrepreneurs and scientists will help solve some of the planet’s most pressing problems. To put them on the right track, this award recognizes Pacific Northwest educators who inspire young minds to achieve more in science, technology, engineering and math.

Last year’s GeekWire Awards attracted hundreds of nominations and more than 16,000 community votes. GeekWire recognized more than 60 finalists and award winners in 15 categories.

Last year’s winners in the above categories included Bellevue, Washington-based healthcare software company Edifecs for Workplace of the Year; Humanly for UX Design of the Year, a Seattle-based HR startup; and educators/teachers Devina Khan, Johanna Brown and Stephanie Winslow shared STEM Education of the Year.

A big thank you goes to Astound Business Solutions, now in its 10th year as a Presenting Sponsor of the GeekWire Awards.
