Donald Trump Jr. wants everyone to know that his father is still a big consumer of McDonald’s meals.
In an episode of his Triggered podcast Thursday, Trump Jr. discussed his father’s trip to East Palestine, Ohio. East Palestine was the scene of a toxic train derailment in early February.
The former president was seen at a McDonald’s branch in eastern Palestine on Wednesday buying meals for first responders and said he probably knew the menu better than McDonald’s staff.
βBy the way, 100% accurate, ok. Nobody knows better,” Trump Jr. said of his father’s comment.
“Probably no one eats more of it per capita than Donald Trump,” he added.
Trump Jr., the former president’s eldest son, also said it was nice to “just see his father sitting at McDonald’s.”
“It was DJT at its best,” Trump Jr. said.

Trump’s penchant for fast food is well known. In 2019, he served a massive fast-food buffet in the State Dining Room of the White House to celebrate the Clemson University football team’s national championship win.
McDonald’s was also Trump’s comfort food of choice β he had shipped an order from the fast-food chain to Walter Reed Hospital when he contracted COVID-19 in October 2020.
Journalist Michael Wolff wrote in his book “Fire and Fury” that Trump likes fast food partly because of his “long-standing fear” of poisoning. Wolff added that Trump likes going to McDonald’s because “nobody knew he was coming and the food sure was pre-made.”
Former top Trump campaign aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie revealed in 2017 that Trump’s standard order at McDonald’s is a 2,500-calorie meal of two Big Macs, two filet-o-fish sandwiches, and a large malt milkshake.
The former president is also known for enjoying pizza, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Diet Coke. Along with McDonald’s, these four foods were staples of his 2016 campaign diet, according to a book by Lewandowski and Bossie.
